The Rostock Seawolves made the promotion to the basketball Bundesliga perfect.
In a dramatic game at Medipolis SC Jena, the team of coach Christian Held won a second before the final siren with 77:76 (43:35), thanks to a three-person from Tyler Nelson, and thus came to the decisive third victory in the fourth game of the semi-final series. In the final for the second division championship, the Mecklenburger now meet the Tigers Tübingen.
The game remained balanced until the fifth minute. After that, the guests were able to slowly break away and were in front of nine points in phases. Jena managed to reduce the gap again and again, but with the last action before the break, Christopher John Carter made one for the 43:35 lead in half time.
In the third quarter, the Seawolves were able to keep the host at a distance, even led once with twelve points. But Jena fought back again, took the lead herself and was still at the lead five seconds before the end. Held then took a break that was crowned with success. Because Nelson's successful threesome with the last trendy campaign meant the victory and the acclaimed promotion.
